Leqvio (inclisiran) is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapy approved by the FDA as an adjunct to diet and exercise to reduce LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with hypercholesterolemia, including adults and pediatric patients 12 years and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH), and in pediatric patients 12 years and older with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH).
Leqvio works by silencing the gene that produces PCSK9, a protein that normally reduces the liver's ability to clear LDL cholesterol from the blood. By reducing PCSK9 production, Leqvio allows the liver to remove more LDL cholesterol from circulation, lowering LDL-C levels for an extended period between doses.
Leqvio is intended for adults with elevated LDL-C who require additional lowering beyond diet, exercise, and other lipid-lowering therapies, as well as adolescents 12 years and older with familial hypercholesterolemia under specialist supervision.
Leqvio is given as a 284 mg subcutaneous injection administered by a healthcare professional, with an initial dose, a second dose at 3 months, and subsequent doses every 6 months thereafter.
Leqvio does not carry a formal FDA boxed warning. However, patients and caregivers should be aware of the following important safety information.
Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis and angioedema, have been reported with Leqvio. Leqvio is contraindicated in patients with a history of a serious hypersensitivity reaction to inclisiran or any of its excipients.
Injection site reactions, including pain, erythema, and rash, are among the most commonly reported adverse effects and are usually mild to moderate and self-limiting.
Leqvio is intended for use alongside diet, exercise, and other lipid-lowering therapies where needed. It should not be used as a substitute for statins in patients who can tolerate them, unless directed otherwise by a treating physician.
Lipid levels should be monitored periodically to assess response to therapy, particularly around the time of subsequent doses.

Leqvio is manufactured and marketed globally by Novartis Pharmaceuticals. It is sourced through authorized distribution channels for patients seeking named-patient import into India.
Patients typically need a valid prescription from a treating cardiologist or lipid specialist confirming diagnosis and prior lipid-lowering therapy history. NPP's regulatory team assists in preparing and verifying the documentation needed for a compliant import.
As an FDA-approved therapy for cholesterol management, Leqvio is sourced through authorized channels and imported under GDP-compliant logistics to preserve product quality throughout transit.
NPP sources Leqvio directly from authorized pharmaceutical distributors to ensure product authenticity and full traceability. Every shipment is handled under Good Distribution Practice (GDP) conditions from origin to the patient's doorstep.
Leqvio should be stored at controlled room temperature, 20°C to 25°C, with excursions permitted between 15°C and 30°C, and this condition is maintained throughout transit.
Once documentation and regulatory approvals are in place, delivery timelines are communicated transparently at the time of quotation, accounting for import clearance and last-mile logistics to the patient's city.
